BETTY LOU (GILSTRAP) CHASE

January 21, 1936 ~ January 31, 2018

Betty Lou Chase was born in Peck, Idaho. She was one of 8 siblings and is survived by her children: Jeffrey Chase, Charisse Epperson, Valdana Gunnell and Danielle Cowan; as well as her sister, Charlotte Simkins. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William Lobdell. Betty had a hard life as a child, but as her confidence grew so did her independence. She obtained an Associates Degree from PCC after her children grew up. Betty started working when she was 15, and later as a single parent, she held as many as three jobs at once to care for her family. Betty worked for The Speck in SE Portland for 20 years, then retired from a 32 year career at the USPS where she excelled as a line manager. Betty was passionate about her grandchildren, her work, conducting research, her views about life and her dog Sadie. She was an excellent role model and strove to be the best she could be. Betty loved her family and friends dearly and enjoyed their time together.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Firstenburg Community Center, 700 NE 136th Ave., Vancouver, WA from 1-4p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2018.
