Janice Catt Obituary
September 4, 1937 - January 31, 2017
Resided in Kelso, WA
She spent her childhood in Glasgow and met and married Gary Arlen Catt, Sr. from Fort Peck, Montana. They had four children while living in Glasgow and then moved to Vancouver, where they had their fifth child.
Janice graduated an honor student and a Scottie, from Glasgow High School in 1955, and went on to receive a B.A. from Clark College in Vancouver. She was an active member in the community and was a member of The Elegance Club (Former Girl Scout Leaders), as well as the Arthritis Support Group. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church.
Family and friends were Janice's passion and delight. She was a devoted grandparent to her five, loving grandchildren, and spent as much time as possible with them. She loved photography and the art of capturing beautiful things and people.
Janice is survived by her brother, Richard Miller, half-brothers John Wood and Leeroy Wood, and her half-sisters, Florence Carroll and Jean Marie Wood, as well as her children, Laurie Walker, Gary Catt and Linda Malmstadt, as well as 5 grandchildren and a number of other relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by Gary Catt, Sr., her sister Joyce Solomon, her daughter Debra Catt, and son Steven Catt.
A service will be held on Saturday, February 11th at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church at 401 E. 33rd Street, Vancouver, WA 98663. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her name to the First United Methodist Church at the same address listed above.
