Obituary

Constance “Connie” Elizabeth (Randleman) Lyons resident of Vancouver, WA. Died unexpectedly at her home June 19th 2020 at the age of 68.

Connie was born January 20th 1952 in Myrtle Point, Oregon. In her early years she lived in Coquille Oregon where she graduated from Coquille High School in the class of 1970. After High School, she moved to Medford Oregon and attended the Merritt Davis School of Commerce, and then attended Rouge Community College in Grants Pass Oregon where she met her husband David Lyons. They were married in 1973, and moved to Crescent City, California where she gave birth to their son Jeremiah. In 1978 they moved back to Medford, where their daughter Julia was born.

Connie spent most of her time in Medford as a waitress, working as a medical assistant for a local family doctor, and raising her two young children. She re-enrolled in Rogue Community College and attended night classes, often with her two children in tow. She soon transferred to Linn Benton Community College in Albany Oregon in 1988 to be closer to family and to pursue a nursing degree. While in Albany Oregon she worked as a waitress at Novak's Hungarian restaurant. After years of working as a waitress the job began to take a toll on her body, so she decided to make a career change and was hired at ODOT in the fuels tax department where she worked until retiring in 2007. Her job at ODOT relocated her to Salem Oregon where she lived for 20 years. In 2017 She moved to Vancouver Washington to be closer to her son. In Vancouver she rediscovered her love of playing card games and found herself a great group of friends that would meet multiple times a day to play in her apartment complex.

She was very social, enjoyed telling stories, writing poetry, making people laugh, and playing card games with her friends.

She is survived by her son Jeremiah Lyons of Vancouver, WA, his wife Kirsten; daughter Julia Geraghty of Bend, her husband Justin; 3 grandchildren, former spouse David E. Lyons; sister Candis Parker and sister-in-Law June Randleman.

Connie is preceded in death by her brother Sam Randleman and her parents Roy and Virginia “Sandy” Randleman of Coquille.

A Graveside Service will be held at noon Saturday, June. 27th , at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens.

Connie will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
