Donald Keith Beatty

Husband. Son. Brother. Father (dog and human). Uncle. Friend.

Selfless: if you google or wiki this word you find links to movies, books and definitions. But, Don, he was a “selfless” ambassador. Touching and changing lives. Donnie was known as a “first responder” to friends and family in times of crisis and also in times of peace. Always there to hold a hand, lend a shoulder and provide comforting words.

Don had a passion for history - and his story is filled with great adventures and love stories. His story began on March 7th 1959 - he stole his mom’s heart with his soulful blue eyes - the same eyes that would steal many hearts throughout his life. He was a thoughtful, caring baby and those traits never changed. His most prized love story began on September 30th 1995, when he married “the one”, Terri Beatty. They had many adventures together both local and afar. Traveling to places like Australia, Fiji and Mexico. He loved to travel and learn about different cultures. But his most favorite thing was cruising to the Caribbean - the endless midnight buffets and the view from the balcony on the back of the boat where he could reflect on the adventures of the day. He loved getting together with family, and was a fierce competitor during family game night and when he was victorious his infamous “BOOM!!!” would echo throughout the house and then some. Music was Don’s sanctuary - giving him inspiration, comfort and joy.

Excited about the science of geography, Donnie applied that discipline to the way he mapped out his life, creating a map of community and connecting people together, enriching and changing lives. That community is made up of Terri Beatty his wife and best friend of almost 25 years and his beloved Baby dog, a gorgeous Yorkie Maltese Poo. His mom and stepfather Glenda and Jesse. His stepmother, Judy. His sisters, Susan, Debby and Kelli. His brothers Greg, Don, Bryan, Gary and John. His nephews, Michael, Shawn and Christopher. His great nephews Matthew, Nyko, and Colin. His nieces Jessica, Becca, Amber, Bobbi (and his best friend, her husband Terry) and his great niece Whitnai. His precious Aunt Debbie. His children Kim and Heather and his grandchildren Jordan, Dalvin, Sydney Kimauni, Riley and great grandchildren. Lots of dear cousins. And - many many cherished friends too numerous to name .... He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth and his brothers Jimmy and Doug.

Sadly Donnie’s story ended on April 22nd 2020 - ending his long standing battle with several illnesses. Donnie, was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and believed in the promise at Revelation 21:3,4 - until then, as the Beatles - one of Don’s favorites - would sing -

Please, don’t spoil my day, I’m miles away
And after all I’m only sleeping
