Obituary

Donald T Edney passed away on Oct. 21, 2020, in Vancouver, WA. He was born in Port Townsend Feb. 28, 1942 to Orville and Lulu (Finch) Edney. After graduating from high school in 1960, he began working at the Crown Zellerbach pulp and paper mill in Port Townsend. In 1962 he married Mary Lois Cummings, who survives him at their home in Vancouver. In 1983 Don and Lois moved to Camas, where he took a position at the Crown Zellerbach mill there, and he closed out his career at the non-woven fibers plant that the company had established in nearby Washougal.

Don enjoyed playing piano, taking trips in his RVs, and listening to country music. He was a skillful pool player and a labor union trustee.

He was a proud caretaker of the 1955 Dodge which his parents had purchased new and that is still running today.

In addition to Lois, Don leaves behind his sister, Shirley Myers of Port Townsend; daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Dan Olsen of Kenmore; granddaughter Maia Olsen; son Don Edney of Washougal; and nieces Cindy Hansen of Poulsbo and Rene Larson of Port Townsend. Don was preceded in death by his brother Bill Garnhardt.

Cremation will take place in Vancouver and memorial services will be held at a later date.
