In loving memory of Doyle Ivan Fleming, 74, of Vancouver, WA who passed away unexpectedly on October 9th, 2020. Doyle was born in South Gate, CA on February 15, 1946. He spent most of his life in Southern California until he moved his family to Vancouver, WA in April of 1981, where he spent the remainder of his life.

Doyle is survived by his three daughters: Shannon Griggs, and her husband Travis; their daughters Hannah, Haylie, Hannah, Rachel, and Morgan, as well as two grandchildren, Brynnlee and Trey. Jennifer Roland and Matt Hodges. Rebecca Montgomery and her husband David; their daughters Jazzmyn, Taeyler, Emily, and Baylee as well as a grandson, Carter. He is also survived by his four siblings: Lindy, Bobbi, Yvonne, and Steve. Doyle is preceded in death by his mom, Vivienne Schroeder, and dad, Glenn Fleming.

Doyle enlisted in the Army in February 1967, serving in the Vietnam War as a helicopter mechanic. After the Army, Doyle was a truck driver, for most of his life. He was able to travel all over the United States, always making sure to stop and visit family while traveling. He retired in 2011.

During his retirement, he spent many years working with the VFW North County Post, where he was a lifetime member. Doyle loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle, riding it every chance, he got. He was able to make a trip to Sturgis, with his family, something he’d always wanted to do. His favorite thing to do, during retirement, was to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren—every chance he got. Doyle was a family man, through-and-through, spending all his spare time with his family.

Doyle was a friendly man, there wasn’t a person that he came across that he didn’t strike up a conversation with—finding friendship through his gift-for-gab. He was always willing to lend a hand when there was someone in need.

Doyle will be missed by everyone who crossed his path.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Doyle on November 1st, at one of his favorite places, Nick’s Bar and Grill in Amboy, WA.
