July 5, 1948 - December 23, 2018
Born in Payette, Idaho
Resided in Vancouver, Washington

Darlene (Stoneman) Fauser, 70, went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep due to complications from pneumonia. The previous day, Darlene had been surrounded by her family and friends, offering prayers, songs and thoughts. She was born July 5, 1948 to John and Eleanor Stoneman in Payette, ID, the only girl of four. She grew up on the family farm and attended Weiser High School, graduating in 1966.

Darlene went on to pursue a passion for teaching, entering into elementary education at Northwest Nazarene College. She put herself through college, graduating in 1970 with a music minor.

Darlene taught 5th grade in Battle Ground, WA for her entire 30-year career and was respected by parents and students alike. She loved her ”job” of working with young people. She helped open Pleasant Valley School in 1976 and taught there until her retirement in 2000.

While attending college, Darlene met her husband Dave and they married on July 1, 1972 in Weiser, Idaho and spent 46 years together. Their daughter Kirsten was born Sept. 26, 1975. Darlene was thrilled to be ”Grandma” to Kylie and Kambria and treasured the times spent with them.

”Mrs. Fauser” was known for her sweet spirit, hard work, and keen sense of humor. She was well known by custodians for playing impish pranks on them, many times roping in her daughter Kirsten.
Darlene lived with rheumatoid arthritis for 40 years, never complaining or asking for special treatment. She tried many different medications, some with ill side effects that she dealt with. Her strong faith in God gave her strength to maintain a positive outlook on life and people. She was admired by many for her courage and perseverance.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Dave; daughter, Kirsten (Jay) Delaney and her grandchildren, Kylie and Kambria of Spokane, WA; brother, John Stoneman of Payette, ID. She also had many dear friends, some since high school and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Lee and Marc.

A Memorial Service will be held Sat., Jan. 26, 2019 at Vancouver Church, 3300 NE 78th St., Vancouver, WA at 4:00 p.m.
